Zutaten
  

Pasta
  • 400 g Tortellini fresh or frozen
Sauce
  • 400 g Tomato Sauce preferably homemade or high-quality
Cheese
  • 250 g Mozzarella cubed or shredded
  • 50 g Parmesan Cheese grated
Vegetables
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Basil chopped, for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Tortellini
  1. Cook the tortellini in a pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Make the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.
Assemble the Dish
  1. In a large baking dish, combine the cooked tortellini and tomato sauce. Mix well.
  2. Top with cubed mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve
  1. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
