Semmelknödel (Bread Dumplings)
  • 250 g day-old bread cut into cubes
  • 200 ml milk warm
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 g onion finely chopped
  • 50 g butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg ground
  • 200 g flour for binding
Champignon-Rahm Sauce
  • 300 g mushrooms sliced
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped for garnish
Gebratenes Putenfilet (Fried Turkey Fillet)
  • 400 g turkey fillet sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Method
 

Prepare Semmelknödel
  1. Soak the bread cubes in warm milk for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soaked bread, eggs, melted butter, chopped onion, salt, nutmeg, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Shape the dough into dumplings, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook the dumplings for about 15 minutes until they float.
Prepare Champignon-Rahm Sauce
  1. In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour in the cream and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Cook Gebratenes Putenfilet
  1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Season turkey fillet with salt and pepper, then fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
Serve
  1. Place the Semmelknödel on a plate, top with Champignon-Rahm sauce, and add slices of fried turkey fillet.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your meal!
