  • 300 grams Pasta (e.g., penne) Uncooked
  • 200 grams Cooked ham Diced
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 750 ml Chicken broth Low sodium preferred
  • 200 ml Cream Heavy cream or cooking cream
  • 150 grams Cheese (e.g., Gouda or Cheddar) Grated
Herbs and Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. In a large pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the diced ham and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the pasta, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
Finishing the Dish
  1. Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the cream and grated cheese until melted and creamy.
  2. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  3. Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese if desired.
