Zutaten
  

Pretzel Buns
  • 250 g all-purpose flour for the dough
  • 150 ml water warm
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking soda for boiling
  • 1 egg egg wash beaten
Filling
  • 400 g Leberkäse sliced
  • 100 g Emmental cheese sliced
  • 4 slices pickles sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms. Let it rise for 15 minutes.
Shape and Boil
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Divide the dough into small balls and shape them into pretzel buns.
  3. Boil water in a pot, add baking soda, and boil each bun for 30 seconds. Remove and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Brush each bun with egg wash.
Bake and Assemble
  1. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Once cooled, slice the buns and layer with Leberkäse, Emmental cheese, and pickles.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!
