Method
Prepare the Meatballs
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
Cook the Meatballs
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a bit of oil. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked meatballs to a baking sheet and keep warm in a preheated oven at 100°C (212°F).
Make the Gravy
- In the same frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and soy sauce, and season to taste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
