Zutaten
  

Meatball Mixture
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs preferably fresh
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
Gravy
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce optional
To Serve
  • 1 cup lingonberry sauce
  • 4 servings mashed potatoes

Method
 

Prepare the Meatballs
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
Cook the Meatballs
  1. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a bit of oil. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a baking sheet and keep warm in a preheated oven at 100°C (212°F).
Make the Gravy
  1. In the same frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and soy sauce, and season to taste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Serve
  1. Serve the meatballs with gravy over mashed potatoes and a side of lingonberry sauce.
