Gyros Meat
  • 500 grams gyros meat sliced
Vegetables
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Rice
  • 300 grams long-grain rice uncooked
  • 600 ml water
Spices and Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Method
 

Prepare the Rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring the water to a boil and add the rice. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked.
Cook the Gyros
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the gyros meat, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until the meat is heated through and slightly browned, about 10-15 minutes.
Serve
  1. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve it on plates topped with the gyros mixture.
  2. Garnish with additional herbs if desired and enjoy!
