Gyros Meat
  • 500 grams gyros meat sliced
Sauce Ingredients
  • 200 grams sour cream
  • 100 milliliters chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Rice
  • 250 grams long-grain rice
  • 500 milliliters water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and add 1 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Add the rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.
Cook the Gyros Meat
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the gyros meat and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Make the Sauce
  1. Reduce heat to medium and stir in the sour cream and chicken broth.
  2. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
Serve
  1. Serve the gyros meat in the creamy sauce over the cooked rice.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
